Who knew I had it in me?
One of my favorite things about Heritage Makers is that they offer templates for those of us who are creatively challenged and spare-time deprived. You just login and go to the templates section; choose the kind of project you'll be doing- say 5x7 invitation style card for example- and put into the keyword section what you're looking for. Then you add whatever template you desire to your My Templates section and there you go- you'll have it for whenever you choose to start that project and thereafter.
I went in to look for a template for a thank you card that I could individualize for my brothers. They were just out on Bonneville Salt Flats and broke some world records racing. There were lots of fans, friends, family, and peers of theirs out there to support them. We thought it would be nice to send a thank you card showing them we appreciated all the support. Much to my chagrin, I couldn't find anything that was even close to masculine and mechanic-ish when I went looking in the Templates section. So...I set out to go where I rarely dare to go- And I created from scratch my own project. When I was done with it and hit the publish button I was given the opportunity to submit my project as a template to Home Office. Someone down there in our Creative Development department must have liked it because you can now find my project in the general templates section. Just type cars in in the keyword section and it will come up as a 7x5 invitation style card. I was so excited to find out that someone else thought what I had created was worth sharing with others.
This is another amazing aspect of the wonderful company that I am a part of- they are constantly adding new consultant and customer-created templates into their system so there is always something new to look at and much more to choose from. I have to give credit to my friend Jen who found most of the artwork that I used and to my mom who offered helpful criticism and suggestions bringing us to the final product that you see to the right. Who knew I had it in me? All I've got to say is if I can do this then anyone else can too- seriously- you can! And I'd love to show you how.
